Oh, I love french music, but most french rap I've heard tries too hard to copy american rap... and sucks because of it (imo).

It was refreshing to see a performer who was good, and had their own style to it.

There's a lot of great French hip-hop out there that's dynamic, interesting, and politically-minded like American rap used to be before The Chronic came out and permanently doomed rap to mediocrity. Of course, there's also a bunch of crap French hip-hop, but the good stuff is worth searching for.

I recommend Rohff, Loovay, Prince d'Arabée, Banneur, the Banlieue 13 soundtrack, and the La Nocturne de Skyrock compilation as a starting place.

If I listen to music while training, it's 100% French rap. Especially Rohff. I love Rohff. :)
